Patreon Soft Launch

This afternoon, I have soft launched my Patreon account. I have a laundry list of things I would like to do, but gaining supporters, followers and others is the primary thing.

Let me tell you what you are supporting. First, you are supporting me in creating new content for These Old Games that we all enjoy. You are assisting me in being a part of the greater community of bloggers, influencers, gamers and content producers that live to play.

With your support, products will be pulled off the back burner. Your support will help these products see the light of day. I want to greatly expand the content that I currently have on DriveThruRPG and create much more.

On the blog, I want to create more content in the historical vein, such as "What if you had magic x in Rome/The Middle Ages/Etc.?" I want to highlight what a fantasy trope does to history. I am a social studies teacher, after all. I'd also like to see those horrid Amazon ads go.

Artwork needs to be completed for new products and the blog. But for every piece I create, there at least half a dozen that never see the light of day. Not because they wait undone, but because I lack the time and resources to make them available. I would love to change that and share them with you.

I would like to thank all of you for the support you have given thus far. Every time someone mentions me on a blog or in a podcast, I cannot express how excited and thankful I am. When a Blogger user hits that follow button or when someone else subscribes by email, it makes my day. When all of you download an offering on DriveThruRPG that order confirmation email pumps me up.

At this time, there is only one Patreon tier, basic. I am still thrashing through ideas for benefits at the dollar level and brainstorming new ideas for higher tiers, if necessary.
